The Amazing Race Showcases Cambodian Culture

SIEM REAP: The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts celebrated Cambodia’s appearance in an episode of The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition that debuted last week.

The episodes were filmed in June and July of this year and showed contestants battling the summer heat while learning more about India, Malaysia and Cambodia. While in Cambodia, the remaining five teams are immersed in uniquely Cambodian experiences by visiting the Chong Kneas School in the Tonle Sap’s floating village, harvesting lotus flowers, and learning Bokator moves. The contestants also looked for clues against the gorgeous backdrop of Angkor Wat.

The Ministry of Culture said TV show and its producers managed to show the smiles of the Cambodian people along with their beautiful culture including the krama, Bokator, and handicrafts made from precious lotus fiber as well as displaying the beauty of Angkor Wat.
